We are a group of dedicated and passionate triathletes who saw the need to re-organize the current triathlon culture in Malaysia. There is certainly a lack of public awareness towards our sport and what better way than to push it to kids at an early age. We aim to educate everyone that triathlon is not a sport only for the superhumans but is for everybody and that even kids are able to do it with loads of fun. Our motto "Spreading the love for triathlon" simply explains it all.
Our first TriKidz event was held in early 2008 with merely 20 participants. News of our event grew fast and in no time our participation increased to around 200 in our next races. This only shows there is definitely a keen interest in triathlon here in Malaysia. We are very proud to have helped transform these kids into solid athletic performers. Plus along with them we have armed them with the correct knowledge and techniques of triathlon so that they will get the best results possible.
Our ultimate goal is to look for Malaysia's next triathlon star. TriKidz is fully supported by TRIAM and is a talent search pool to identify those who have potential to go further. We are very proud that TRIAM has selected 2 of our participants from TriKidz as national junior triathletes to be sent to Subic Bay Triathlon 2009 in the Philipines.
Our coaches in TriKidz have ITU coaching certification so that we can give the kids the best know-how about triathlon. Producing champions requires everything to be correct from the very beginning.
TriKidz is only the beginning of a very long journey. There is still much to do and so we welcome everybody to help support our event. Let's make this OUR race together.
